Mesh count refers to openings per linear inch, while micron rating refers to the actual opening size in micrometers. They are related but not interchangeable — two meshes with the same mesh count but different wire diameters will have different micron ratings.
Use the formula: Opening (μm) = (25400 / mesh count) - wire diameter (μm). Or simply refer to our Mesh Size Chart for common conversions.
